Apple 在 NYT 的新广告
很好玩，猛一看还以为和正文标题结合起来了呢。
YouTube 上有几个人都录了这段广告，我选的这个应该是清晰度，前后过场最好的。UPDATED: 已更新，原来那一段被作者拿掉了。
广告出现在 NYT 的首页上—-你现在去已经不一定看得到啦。横幅是大大的 Leopard is better and faster than Vista，这其实 莫博士 某日的一篇文章，PC 爬上梯子，说自己是为了纠正这篇 华尔街日报 之报道的标题的笔误—-少了个 NOT，后面？他还要去 get the whole internet correct。

Richard Stallman 在 10 号一封主题为 Real men don’t attack straw men 的 email 里说，“我为什么不推荐 OpenBSD 呢，因为我一贯认为 non-free 软件是 无良 兼 反社会的，而 OpenBSD 包含或推荐用户去安装 non-free 软件，所以 OpenBSD 我不推荐。”Richard 在此信中说他承认 OpenBSD 不包含 non-free，不过他认为 ports 推荐用户安装 non-free，那。。。。。。
此言激怒了 Theo de Raadt 等人，Theo 的回信极具暴力娱乐色彩：

ImmersiveMedia 街景
5 月份的时候，Google Maps 开始提供 StreetView，大家能看到实景了，那些装着摄像头的黑色甲壳虫拍下了还没被 X MEN 干掉的金门大桥和刚走出脱衣舞俱乐部的猥琐男。
部分 StreetView 的数据是来自 Immersive 的，Google 有自己的平台，数据从 Immersive 和其它一些供应商许可来。对 San Francisco 和 South Bay 这样 Google 的“天子脚下”地，他们有比 Immersive 分辨率更高的数据。Google 和 Immersive 的合同到今年 12 月 27 号截至，此后一段时间，Google 仍将拥有这些数据的独家使用权，不过此后，Immersive 即有权将这些数据许可给更多公司。短期说来，断了和 Google 的合同会影响 Immersive 的收入，不过总的来说，在地理数据紧俏的这些年，长期看好。
不过现在 Immersive 用自己技术制作的 demo 要远远超过 StreetView 的效果，和 StreetView 呆板的静态数据相比，immersivemedia 可以让你像个当时就坐在他们的数据采集车里多动的孩子一样，从车内向车外任意方向看去，车子同时还继续行进着，街上的噪音，鸣笛全都重现，情景十二分的现场。
Immersive 的装备是 45000美元的 Dodeca 2360，装备 12 个镜头（甚至更多）的摄像机，以每秒 30 帧的速度拍摄。操作这玩意儿的是，如下：
这个垒球大小的摄像机由普通 罗技 Logitech 游戏手柄操作，能得到 2400 X 1200 分辨率的图像，够不错的了。上图的装备为每个两人组所有，这样的组 Immersive 目前有 6 个。美国境内，他们已经拍下了 50000 英里。美国国会大厦安保部门采用了 Immersive 的装备作为辅助手段，Adidas 最近为 万人迷 在 洛杉矶 的首次登场也用上这玩意儿。
