One thing I forgot to mention in yesterday’s posts about Windows 7 is, no there is no Sidebar.
Is it a clue that Sidebar won’t be there in Windows 7 final release? I believe it can only be answered by Microsoft engineering managers.

每年的 9 月 16 日对 乔布斯 Steve Jobs 来说可能都跟生日一样有些特别，因为这厮的人生与这个日子是如此紧密相连：这是他被踢出 Apple 的耻辱日，也是他重返 Apple 的光荣节。
1985 年 9 月 16 号，Jobs 名义上辞去了 chairman 职务，实际上是被董事会赶出了 Apple。他在和 联合 CEO John Sculley 的争权夺利中失去了董事会的支持，我猜应该不是 Sculley 长得比他帅的缘故。从 7 年前自己创建的公司被自己请来的 CEO 踢开，真好像是马克杯上的漫画：扔出一坨大便，砸中自己的头。
同日他完全退出了 Apple，而后在加州创建了新公司 NeXT。NeXT 的唯一目标恐怕就是复仇，要做的唯一一件事就是糗 Apple —- 他们要做比 Apple 的任何东西都好上百倍的产品。在这个目标达成之前，1996 年 12 月，发了酵醉醺醺的 Apple 清醒过来，花 4 亿美元买了 NeXT。

场上现有选手是 Internet Expolorer，Firefox，Opera，Safari 和 Chrome，海沙派和巨鲸帮先滚一边儿去。我最想看到的下一个参战方，是 Adobe。
听起来八杆子打不着？Adobe 在 AIR 里已经放进了 Webkit，废话，要不怎么让 webapp 跑？！与 Chrome 掩盖了 Skia Graphics Engine 的一些光辉类似，AIR 按照 Adobe 的选择，盖住了自己可以（或者已然）成为一个不错浏览器的潜质（或者事实）。Adobe 更希望 AIR 提供灵活但是熟悉的“本地化应用”的体验，因为 offline webapp 初始时是作为摆脱进而超越浏览器限制的应用而提出的，AIR 是为这个目的设计的，那浏览器能力被掩上个红盖头–可能永远都不一定揭开的红盖头–倒也可以理解。
Never say never，貌似绝佳适用于 Google 的 AIR （以及 Google Gears 等）也无法让依赖 Web 的企业放心，构建一个适合自己，有能力适应未来应用变化的平台（引擎/浏览器）太重要了，作为多处押宝和不断尝试的手段，Chrome 才会在 Google 与 Firefox，Opera 的合作以及 Gears 的开发后（顽强）现身。连 Intel 都做过 UNIX，Google [...]
