文采昭彰
Linux Symposium 本来是个核心技术研讨会，面向在 Linux 内核，OS 基本架构，安全，网络和相关研究项目的软件开发者，与会者来自30多个国家，这下他们打算接近那么一点普通人： Linux Essay Contest 。
写上一篇关于 Linux 的短文，主题范围可以非常宽泛，只要写得够好，就能赢得眼馋的奖品。文章内容可以是聊聊 Linux 对你的重要性，最棒的 Linux Hack，我是怎么成为 Linux 开发者的等等。总之，是说说 Linux 的重要性或者对你，对身边人的影响－－不光可以是技术影响，社会影响一样欢迎；不光是对工作的影响，对生活的也非常不错。这下可好，向来用代码来贡献和支持 Linux 的家伙们可以来个 code 不是无情物，化作文采更护花 了。
规则是：
－参赛者必须在 16 岁以上
－最多 1500 字，纯文本，PDF 或者 Perl 都行－－有创意
－必须是 7月19到22号在 Ottawa 召开的 2006 Linux Symposium 的注册参加者
－好像有一点要说明：英语哈
提交截至日期：6月30日
7月19 号的 Linux Symposium Welcome Reception 上会宣布获胜者，文章提交到 essay@linuxsymposium.org
评委嘛，Ottawa Linux Symposium (OLS) 委员会和 Linux 社区中选出的成员。据说这次比赛的创意来自 OLS 的组织者和 Intel 的brainstorming 。

Rules:
Must be 16 years or older.
Maximum of 1500 words plain text or PDF in English (or Perl)
Must be registered as an attendee of the 2006 Linux Symposium
Submission Deadline: Friday, June 30th, 2006
Winners will be announced at the Linux Symposium Welcome Reception.
